Taylor's first field trip

Taylor had her very first field trip today. She had a blast. Her 2 best friends are twins (Jayla and Janae) were paired up with me as their chaperon. (I thought chaperon had an e on the end, but auto correct told me different... looks funny to me. Moving on...) Taylor was CRAZY excited about riding on a school bus and it didn't disappoint. Holy cow that bus driver was nuts. Did she not realize that these kids are barely large enough to be out of carseats? They were sliding ALL over the place on those seats. And loved every minute of it.

When we first got to the pumpkin patch we had snack time. The wind nearly blew the tent we sat in over. it was hard to keep everything on the table, but we managed somehow.
After snack we got to ride on the hay ride. The girls wanted to sit on the floor of the ride though it had a bench on it.

After our fun hay ride (equally as bumpy as the bus ride) we got to go play in corn and  wheat! They asked the kids to hold up a piece of each before they played.

Then we got to go see the animals. Taylor loved the baby cows. We need to go over to the sandstrom farm next year when those little baby cows are born. Baby cows are stinkin cute!

Then we saw the pigs. They were by far my favorite farm animal. SO CUTE. I want one.

Taylor's class is very good about walking in a line. They're teacher has them hold their hands behind their backs when they're in line and really do good sticking with it.  We also got to see the sheep you can in the photo below. They had a basket of wool we got to feel as well.
THE CHICKENS... they gross me out a bit, pooping all over the ground and then pecking at it... YUCK. The kids had to keep their hands behind their back for these so their fingers didn't get pecked. The white chicken in the photo was poking her head out of the fence pecking at the ground at taylor's feet and it freaked her out... glad I caught her face on that one.
The goats. We've seen goats tons of times at the zoo, but for some reason taylor was not all that into touching these.

Then we all went and sat and heard a story about how the pumpkin patch works... how they plant their pumpkins, grow, and then harvest them. It was neat.

Next the kids got to pump water like they would have had to do daily if they were born decades and decades ago.

The kids had already picked out their pumpkins here and were waiting for everyone to finish.

Mrs. Johnson's Pre-K class at A.Z. Kelley. There are a bunch of cute kids in that class.

We then went through the corn maze... no photos of that, but then the kids got to run through the hay maze!

OH, and we say William while we were there.  I think he's the cutest little boy I saw all day ;)

These next photos are so blurry because like I said, That bus driver was nuts.
See taylor falling out of the seat! That happened like 20 times!

They had a blast and loved every minute of it. So glad I was able to go on this field trip with Taylor. I can't wait for the many more she'll have. And glad I got to know her 2 best friends at school some more. They are sweet hearts!

The house hunt

We are officially on the hunt for our first home! This is so exciting, I could pee my pants. I am SO glad to finally be at this point.

I've been scoping out houses online for atleast the past year and a half. Every month or so I'll check to see if my perfect house is for sale or not. I'll email the best ones to Chris to get his opinion. But the timing has never been quite right.

2 weeks ago I had had enough. I am SO SO over apartments. I called Chris and told him something had to change or I was going to go crazy. I had to have something to look forward to, to feel like we're moving forward and not stuck in this limbo of renting - not owning. I told him about a house I'd found online that was a great price in a the perfect neighborhood. He said go ahead and call the agent to view it. It was finally time for us to set the wheels in motion!!!  SO I called the agent.  3 times.  We never heard anything back. Needless to say I was disappointed. But I didn't give up.

I had seen that the house across the street from the one I called about was actually for sale as well. So after the first agent ignoring me (I'm going to leave a bad review online for the guy. he made a big mistake... HUGE) I found the number of the agent for the second house. I called him and we spoke about the second house. We set up a time to go and view the house. The agent also gave the name and number of a lender, so I called her. We found out that we were preapproved for the house we were going to view. It was a such a relief to finally be working towards this and not just talking or dreaming about it.

We went to view the new house today. It was a very cute, nice house. There were a couple little issues I had with the house, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. I was not convinced that this was my house though. I told the agent we needed to think about it, pray about it, and we'd let him know. Before we left he handed me some papers with other houses listed in the same area for near the same price. One of the houses stood out to me immediately. It is exactly what I have pictured in my mind for months now when I see our home. It has all the features we've been looking for (except a fence, but we can get one) We are going to view this new house tomorrow. I'm almost certain, if the inside looks like the pictures I've seen, we'll be making an offer on the house.

Here's a link to what will hopefully be our new home: http://www.crye-leike.com/main/browsedetail.php?fldLogin=wnpx.wreavtna&mgrp=20&sm=3&ln=1&tid=nashville&mlsnum=1288813

So much to blog

It's been almost 2 months since I blogged and so much has happened. Taylor started school, Madison turned 3, I had a root canal, ran a 5k, me and chris quit drinking carbonation (and have TONS more energy now.) and summer heat has finally given way to the perfect autumn breezes everyone loves. I've been way lacking in the writing department, so maybe I can talk Chris into jumping on here once in a while to tell about our little family... Probably not, but it may be worth a try. With the Holidays coming up soon - life is only going to get busier, and with lots of big changes coming our way in the next 6 months or so... Life is really getting nuts. But the changes are good and welcomed and our family is very blessed to have these changes coming our way.

Anyways - my camera is kinda broken and lost at the moment so no pics for a while. But maybe we'll figure something out soon and get y'all updated on everything.
